How to Install a Washing Machine Drain Hose

Firstly, pull the washing machine out from the wall to get to the back part of the machine. Remember to unplug the power cord while doing so.

Take the screwdriver to undo the clamp that holds the hose at the drain pipe on the machine wall. Screw the clamp anticlockwise until you are able to pull it off.

Then turn the screws, which fixes the hose to the back side of the washing machine, counterclockwise. After the screws have been removed, you should delicately pull the hose away from the machine.

Check the distance from the drain pipe to the washer's connectors for the new hose. Take your tape measure and mark it on the hose. Dispose of it by cutting through it using scissors or a cutting tool.

Fit the drain hose into the connectors on the washing machine's back end. Use your fingers to manual tighten the screws in order to keep it in its position. Then fit the other end of the hose on the wall drain pipe. Secure it by rotating the clamp.

To ensure the newly placed drain hose is working properly, start your washing machine on a short cycle or an empty cycle. Check that it doesn’t drip and that the water flows out correctly.

By following these easy procedures for hooking up a washer drain hose, you can connect the new drain line in under an hour using only a few tools.

Remove the old hose from the dishwasher drain line by loosening the clamp using a screwdriver. Then, pull the end connected to the drain pipe under the sink, using pliers to undo the nut/clamp. Cut away the old hose.

Screw a new hose to the drain port of the dishwasher. Hand-tighten the screw of the clamp. Push it down and pass the hose through the hole at the cabinet's bottom part. Then secure to the tailpiece, sink drain pipe or garbage disposal. Lastly, tighten with pliers.

Reconnect the electricity and water. Check by performing a small cycle and looking underneath for dripping. Then, vacuuming should be done a second time to confirm.

Connecting drain hoses when installing washing machines or replacing existing hoses is easy and takes no more than 30 minutes. When the hoses are well connected without leaking or clogging, appliances can wash efficiently for about five years without stoppage.
