DIY Floating Ghoul

Cut off the top of the wire hanger. Be careful of the sharp metal end. If you’re doing this project with children, provide them with work gloves to protect their hands. This is also an excellent opportunity to teach them about the importance of DIY project safety.

Measure and cut a small hole into the center of the sheer curtain with scissors. Place the hanger through the hole to create the body.

Push the top of the wire hanger into the bottom of the skull.

Use the glue gun to secure the hanger and paper clip in place. Allow the hot glue to cool according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Cut two pieces of stiff wire to use for the arms. Lift the curtain and coil the wire around the bottom of the hanger on the left and right sides. Attach a skeleton hand to each wire. If necessary, you can use hot glue to secure the hands to the wire. Mold the entire body into the desired shape and spread the curtain back over it. Adjust as needed.

Attach the spring snap to the paper clip on top of the skull. This piece of hardware will make it easy to hang and remove the decoration from the fishing line as needed.

Hang your finished decoration from the fishing line. If you want it to remain in place, you can tie a knot in the fishing line around the spring snap. If you want your ghoul to move back and forth with the breeze, pull the fishing line tight and skip the knot, so it will glide easily.
