Get Cleaner Water With Help From Lowe’s

Ensuring you have clean, safe water in your home should be a top priority. Not only does water filtration improve the quality of your water for drinking, but it also has a positive effect on activities like washing clothes, cooking and even showering. If you’re looking for water filtering services or a water softener system for your home, Lowe’s is here to help. We’ve partnered with a local water expert to help you choose the right home water treatment system for your needs, and it all starts with a simple water test kit.

Why Water Treatment Systems Are Important

Without proper treatment, water can have a funny taste or smell and be polluted with various contaminants, keeping it from being at safe and healthy standards. If you have hard water, that means there are calcium and magnesium ions present. This causes things like film on shower doors, plumbing problems and other potential damage to your home. With the right water filtration or water softener in place, you can combat these contaminants and damaging qualities to make the water in your home safer to drink and use.

How It Works

There are different water filtration methods, each of which works on specific contaminants, so whether you’re battling odors, chlorine or other contaminants, there’s a system designed for your water purifying needs. A reverse osmosis filtration system pushes water through a membrane to help remove impurities like lead, bacteria, parasites and viruses. With water softeners, the calcium and magnesium ions are replaced with sodium ions, making your water easier on your home. You can find National Sanitation Foundation-certified water softeners with system monitors that indicate when salt levels are low, making it easy to maintain the perfect water softness for your home.

There are also saltless water softener systems. An alternative to salt-based systems, saltless softeners don’t remove calcium and magnesium but rather alter their chemical structure so they don’t stick to any surfaces and form scale. These systems are exceptionally low maintenance and easy to install.

And if a whole home filter isn’t on your project list, there are solutions designed for specific usage areas. Shower head filters and under-the-sink filtration systems allow you to manage water quality at the source. Lowe’s also has replacement filters and water softener cleaners to keep your system operating at its best.

At the end of the day, knowing your water is purified gives you peace of mind. Lowe’s is the exclusive home improvement retailer for Whirlpool® water softener treatment. We can work with you for your water softener installation and your water softener installation cost, so you can enjoy the benefits of clean water today.
