How It Works

From design to installation, Studio Shed is here for you every step of the way.

1. Site Visit
Start designing your tiny home online using the Studio Shed Design Center. Submit your information so we can connect you with a Studio Shed expert. The expert will help schedule a site visit. During the site visit, a contractor will come review your project in person and help you fill out an informational checklist.

2. Design Coordination
A Studio Shed design coordinator will prepare your site plan, floor plan and elevations based on your site visit and chosen configuration. The coordinator will share this information with you for final approval and include it in the contract.

3. Project Design
A Studio Shed project designer will work with a structural engineer to prepare your unique permit and construction documents based on your configuration and local design criteria.

4. Permitting
Your local building department will review your plan, but the timeline for this can vary greatly. Studio Shed recommends contacting your local building department early in your project to limit any unforeseen hurdles. Your project manager and project designer will be available to address any comments or concerns from the building department.

5. Scope Call and Production
A Studio Shed project manager will approve your plan based on your configuration and site visit. The project manager will schedule a scope call with the designated installer to address all installation questions and finalize the timeline.

6. Installation
Once your unit ships, you’ll have 30 days of free local storage while you coordinate delivery to your site. If your site is ready for construction and you’ve coordinated with your contractor, installation can begin as soon as the unit arrives on site. Your project manager will be available to answer installation questions during the build.
