Lowe's Billing Policy

When Will I Be Charged?

When you’re charged may vary and depends on the order type as well as how you’re receiving your item(s).

See below for detailed billing information for each order type. If your order has multiple fulfillment methods (e.g., shipping and truck delivery), you may be charged at different times for different items.

Authorization and Pending Charges

After placing your order and before the charge actually goes through, your bank will do an authorization, and the charges will show as Pending until your items are either shipped, loaded for delivery or picked up in store.

This is a common practice for banks and is done to ensure sufficient funds are in the account to make the purchase. If your payment is declined or your order is canceled, the pending charges will be removed from your account automatically.

Shipping Orders

• For shipping purchases made in store, you’ll be charged at the time of purchase.

• For shipping purchases made on Lowes.com, you’ll be charged as soon as your item(s) ship.

In-Store Pickup Orders

For in-store pickup purchases, you’ll be billed as soon as your item(s) are picked up.

Locker Orders

For locker pickup purchases, you’ll be billed when your items are picked and stored. For canceled locker purchases, re-credits will post within seven to 10 business days.

Truck Delivery Orders

• For truck delivery purchases made in store, you’ll be charged at the time of purchase.

• For truck delivery purchases made on Lowes.com, you’ll be charged once your item(s) are loaded and ready for delivery.

In-Store Purchases

For all in-store purchases, you’ll be charged immediately at the time of purchase.

Professional Installations

For installations, you’ll either be charged immediately at the time of purchase, or your purchase may be broken up into different payments throughout the duration of your project (depending on your state’s regulations). If you have questions about how installation billing works in your state, you can always ask an in-store associate.
