Tax-Exempt Management System (TEMS)

Renew Tax-Exempt Account

  1. Select Sign In or Register in the top right corner.
  2. Once signed in, select Your Name/Account in the top right corner.
  3. Select Tax Exemptions, under the Manage My Organization section.
  4. Have your local Lowe’s store provide your Lowe’s customer ID or Lowe’s tax ID. Select Link Certificate and enter the TEMS ID, which is the same as your Lowe’s customer ID or Lowe’s tax-exempt account ID.
  5. Confirm that the account listed is accurate.

Create a New Tax-Exempt Account

  1. Select Sign In or Register in the top right corner.
  2. Once signed in, select Your Name/Account in the top right corner.
  3. Select Tax Exemptions, under the Manage My Organization section.
  4. Select Create New Certificate, choose the state(s) where you’re exempt and then select Next. Verify the information is correct and select Save and Continue.
  5. Choose an exemption reason.
  6. Fill in the organization’s information, or use the upload function to submit a sales tax-exemption certificate. Select Save and Continue. Sign the certification and select Save and Continue. To finalize, select Submit Certificate.

Please allow 24 to 48 hours for a Pending certificate status to be finalized. Certificates are available immediately after they’re validated.
