Step 1

Have a Lowe's associate cut your plywood in half; it should measure 2' x 2'.

Step 2

If you like, spray-paint the plywood in a color of your choice.

Step 3

Create a border 1 inch in from the edge of the plywood using a pencil and ruler (or just create a border with 1-inch painter's tape). Mark every 1/2" along this border.

Step 4

Hammering nails into plywood

Hammer a 1" nail in at each mark you made in Step 2, leaving about 3/4 of each nail exposed.

Step 5

Tying string to corner nail

Tie string to a corner nail, then loop the string around the nail diagonally across from it.

Step 6

Looping string around nails

Continue looping the string around each nail on the plywood (and its diagonal counterpart) until finished. Note: This will require using two packages of string.

Step 7

Attach a centered picture hanger to the back of the plywood and hang.

Good to Know

For best results, keep the strings taut and close to the top of each nail when looping them.
