Do not purchase anything without opening the box.
This light base WHICH IS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO ON THE BOX, was NOT in the box. The electrician whom I hired could not install the light. He will need (at additional expense) to return to install my light. The light base which was NOT in the box, had to be ordered separately. When I the package containing the light bases, arrived it was a cheaply made plastic (made in China) AND the package didn’t contain the screws needed to install this cheap piece of junk. My previous lamp broke due to the weather and I reaplced the lamp and post base at the same time. Great product for the value.
Doesn't fit
I was so excited to get this home and set up with the RECOMMENDED POST and they don't fit together. It says it will fit standard 3" posts... welllll one of them is lying. The post and the base are exactly the same size. I will give the base props only for the fact that is seems pretty well made because despite my best bang-it-with-a-hammer efforts to make it fit, it wouldn't budge.
