I love the look of the fan. I opted to use the darker blade texture, since it matches the room better but the lighter color is a nice option too. The fan installation was about as easy as others I've done recently. Minor electrical work using provided wire nuts and the included instructions were more than sufficient to accomplish this. Good reliable fan - couple things I would change
I've installed 100's of ceiling fans. Hampton Bay have always been decent fans. Not what I would consider a "high-end" fan but always good quality, reliable and relatively easy to install. I use this fan to replace to one in our master bedroom. Got new "rustic" furniture and I didn't like the wood tone of the old blades or the brushed nickel finish. Great looking fan, horrible light
We installed this fan in our sunroom and love the look of it, but the lighting leaves a lot to be desired. The three edison type bulbs give off a lot of light to the sides, but very little to the bottom due to the metal cover blocking the light. We tried removing the bottom cover and got more light, but then the bulbs are blinding and the decorative metal around the glass can't stay on without the bottom plate. This is a very nice fan when fully assembled. The whole thing takes about an hour and comes with a remote. Basic tools needed, screw driver, wire strippers, electrical tape and time. The remote could have a little more style about it but does what it should, fan 1, 2, 3 and light on/off. I could not be happier with this fan. Whisper quiet when it's on, the top speed puts out so much air that I rarely need to use above the medium speed. It looks great and matches the rest of the lights in my house. I love that I can control the light and speed in the remote. Installing the motor and components wasn’t difficult even if it seems like it might be due to a lot of parts in the box. Make sure you have enough wire, but clear away excess as the wireless receiver take up some space in the mount bracket. I had too much initially and it was a mess, but everything fit together once I cleaned it up.
