Very heavy and solid!

Beautiful - Easy to stain (w proper steps)
Heavy, good quality and easy to handle. Finding good stain combo for what I wanted (brown/gray) was tough but ended up prepping then layering Minwax (2) simple white (2) classic grey (1)provincial - I did use pre stain wood conditioner(Varathane Oil Base). I tried a few different colors and techniques as a beginner n it can get tricky but im happy w the product! When you pick the tops make sure they are the same
I ordered 2 tops same size and species because we were going to have to make a wider top and the butcher block were to different size pieces of wood used to make the butcher block top work

I almost can’t take it anymore. The complaining and finger pointing. It’s a natural product. Wood has knots and dings and scratches and dents. It isn’t perfect! AND THATS THE POINT. It’s alive and soft and warm. If you seek perfection look elsewhere. And for the love of god don’t look in the mirror. I had my own issues with this purchase, but not with the product. Beautiful!
We got this on sale for 279 , We needed a new Island top badly , the one there has been there since the early 90s !! Anyway this is absolutely stunning and beautiful, Heavy and we'll made however you must finish it as it's just bare wood ! I Cut mine to size and made simple 45 degree corners on two corners , Sanded it all down with 220 grit sandpaper with an orbital sander and then cleaned it all off with a tack cloth . Buy sandpaper
It is supplied “sealed” in thick clear shrink wrap. It does offer protection to the wood surface but is not perfect as it develops random tears during shipping and handling. Additionally if your buying floor stock the wrap though clear makes it near impossible to inspect the surface. I found this out the hard way with an 8 ft piece acacia chevron butcher block that was covered in scratches not noticeable until the stain hit the wood.
