What Customers Are Saying
The soldering gun is praised for its fast heat-up time, enabling efficient soldering. Customers highlight the ergonomic design and comfortable grip, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. While a few customers experienced issues with the tip or inconsistent heating, the overall consensus is that the soldering gun is a high-quality product that delivers excellent performance.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Used once to connect heavier gauge multistrand wire and it was marginal at best given it can only run 1 minute out of 5. Fast forward a few years and it is completely dead. On investigation, the trigger switch has gone bad. It uses a weird contact geometry that does not apply firm pressure so oxidation (kept in the garage) keeps it from connecting. Worse the switch case melts if you try to unsolder the wires to refurbish things. Avoid.
Works, but you'll need a 3/32" Allen wrench
The included Allen wrench is the wrong size! Even the documentation says that it should be 3/32" but the included Allen is too large to fit. It's also strange that you're expected to store the Allen wrench in the handle. I first noticed that the provided wrench would not fit the handle - then I noticed it wouldn't fit the tool, either. Fortunately, I already had a 3/32" Allen in my pile of spares.

Ease of use
As good as the original Wellers that I have used since the 1960s

It's a Weller..If you've used one you know.
Fabulous product. Works exactly as expected. I've use Weller products since the 1960's. Expected high working quality and that's what I got. The gun is quite a heavier duty step up from the usual pencil irons. This gets used in situations requiring that extra heat, very quickly, and with that heat being quite reasonably well concentrated.

Awesome soldering gun.
Works great with any kind of standard wire 8 to 20 Awg.... I love it.
A Nice Upgrade
Works well as a replacement for an inexpensive Weller entry-level kit I've had for 25 years. Get hot faster and is easier to apply heat to the desired location. Did a great job helping me rewire the headlight and passing lamps on my Harley. Good to go.

Soldering Kit
I actually bought this when Item# 357336 stopped working for me. I decided to go cheaper because I was only planning on doing a couple of solders, but when my first iron stop working (it didn't even get hot), I went back for this guy. I can say that I am very pleased with the performance of this soldering iron. It literally heats up in seconds and I can still control just as easy as the others. I use this mainly for electrical/audio connections and it works like a charm. Also, make sure you get ...

Mix of quality
From the 30 minutes of usage with one of the supplied tips (before it broke), the hand-held components appear to be well made for the price. The tip quality is questionable. I've not yet decided on keeping it, but the market alternatives are limited. An old-style (as I used in the 1960s) version available appears on the surface to be the same, but is likely a clever cover for junk (based on multiple (apparently legitimate) reviews). Suggestions welcome.
