The Weber 18 in. Smokey mountain cooker Smoker features a generous 481 Sq. In. of cooking space across two plated-steel grill grates, enough room to smoke several slabs of ribs and a whole roast concurrently. This charcoal Smoker has a built-in lid thermometer with a smoke-zone sweet-spot identifier between 200 and 275°F that makes it easy to monitor heat and regulate accordingly with air dampers and Briquette adjustments. To keep foods moist and flavorful, a porcelain-enameled water pan is included for high-humidity slow-cooks that produce juicy, tender, professional-grade results every time.

The durable, aluminized steel Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter allows you to light charcoal briquettes quickly and evenly. The large-capacity, ventilated chimney is uniquely constructed to enable airflow, exposing more briquettes and reducing ignition time. It features a unique, cone-shaped bottom grate that exposes more surface area of the coals to flame for fast and even lighting. The large bottom chamber is easy to fill with lighter cubes or fire starter of your choice and this chimney starter includes two handles for optimal control. When coals are hot, grab the thermoplastic handle with one hand and the top, wire handle with your other hand to direct fuel exactly where you want it. The heat shield reduces heat transfer to handle, but you should still wear gloves when chimney is hot. To get started, simply place chimney starter over a lighter cube or crumpled newspaper, light your preferred fire starter, and you're well on your way. Fast, simple, and no lighter fuel required.

Second one I have owned. Made well and easy to use. A couple of dollars higher than some others brands, but the extra dollars will be valued by you after the first use. Highly recommend to get charcoal started over other methods. Lighter fluid is not needed and you'll appreciate not having the chemical taste/smell lighter fluid creates in your food.

Bring back the old, non-flammable handle!

I had an old one of these starters that lasted for years with only a little rust. When my wife bought me this one to make it look nicer, I got rid of the old one. I wish I had kept it. The new one’s handle started melting within the first few uses, and today it completely melted off and caught fire.

Don't buy any other chimney

Weber makes the best charcoal chimney hands down. This one includes a large handle baffle, and critically includes air holes for faster and more regular lighting when getting it going initially. Huge area. Takes about 30 minutes from lighting to having a good amount of ashing on the top briquettes.

If you're looking at the slightly cheaper off brand, don't buy it!! Get this one, works much better, the initial start actually gets to the coals because of the exposure the coals have to the bottom where your paper/starter source goes. Other brands have more sheet metal and holes, compared to this one which has a grate.
