Less transparent than expected

We bought the semi-transparent stain in Greige and applied to a new fence that had dried out for almost a year and was pressure washed a few days before applying. We had no issues with application using a sprayer other than the dry fence (6-7% moisture) took a lot of product. We got about 125 square ft per gallon so had to buy more than expected. Years ago, I built a large wooden deck with treated wood and stained it with oil based stain, but within a few years an entire section exposed to the sprinkler system rotted, so I replaced it and stained that with Valspar stain. It has lasted so well that now that I have to replace the rest, I am using nothing but Valspar (4 gallons!) and the whole thing looks great.

Great product

I bought this product for my pine privacy fence. I wanted it to match my spruce privacy fence that came already cedar color treated, and which I used the Transparent stain overtop. The pine was not treated, and a much lighter wood. Therefore, I used the additional cedar color in the semi-transparent matched the other fencing.

Good product at a good price.

I have used this in the past and had good luck, hence my buying more. The colors are true to swatches. The color wears well and it will fade a little over time, so take that in condiserations when buying this prouduct

Great dark stain

Loved the dark color, I used this for my kids back yard playset, not sure how it will hold up but it looks great in contrast with my white fence.

Keeps water out

Perfect size for small projects such as porch chairs. I used it tinted with November Gray for a small bench that is partially out in the open, and when it rained the water beaded and wiped off easily.

Protect your wood

Covers well and seals better. Be careful when choosing a color because I didn't realize how much more pollen would show on my deck in the spring, but that's not the products fault.

Easy application, easy clean up, looks great

We purchased the semi-transparent in Wellington Brown for our new deck boards so that the grain would show. The color is dark but it is a nice balance between brown and grey. There are no warm undertones, so look elsewhere if you want that. It is a dark, cool, modern color. The stain mixed, applied, and cleaned up very easily. One coat was all that we needed for a nice even finish. We used a sponge brush where needed between boards and the stain pad on a stick for the tops of the deck boards....

Beautiful fence

I used this product some 6 years ago and it has held up well and looks good. I just applied it and my fence looks like furniture.
