I bought this because I couldn't find my L square, and I love this so much more. It fits easily into places that are tight that my L couldn't square inside angles. Also since it's aluminum, it's light weight but thick and durable, and it won't rust. I've already forgotten it outside twice.
12" Swanson square
Bought this to lay some LVP flooring, and it has worked well. The flooring I installed was over 9" in width so I needed a larger layout tool, and this has worked well. I like the layout notches, which really helps when scribing long lines. Swanson makes a good product in the USA at a comparable price to the lesser quality items manufactured elsewhere

Durable, perfect size.
Bought this for a deck project. I like the aluminum build vs plastic. Watch out in hot weather. The sun will make it as hot as a branding iron.

Well, what to say about a hunk of aluminum? Not much. Light. Much, much better in terms of durability than the plastic ones. Finally, the gradients are etched into the metal and should be easily visible for a very long time.

A must for larger wood stock
This larger framing square is perfect for working with and scribing angle cuts on 6 & 8 inch boards. My first use was scribing a 20 degree angle needed to build a shoe rack for our closet
