If there is anything hard in your soil, or if the soil itself is too hard, these pins will readily bend out of shape when you try to pound them in. The ones I did manage to pound in all the way popped right back out with very little force. I can't believe I paid what I did for this junk.

Good Strong Fabric Pins
We put down new landscape fabric on our vegetable raised beds every spring. So we need pins to hold the fabric in place. But we also need to be able to cut and "X" easily for every place we want to insert a 4" pot plant into the soil underneath then fold back over. These pins are steel so they don't rust quickly and will last two or three seasons if they are pulled up in the fall, rinsed off and then stored dry in the garden shed.
