A safe box opener, but not what you’re used to.

I like this cutter, but I can’t cut open a box the way I normally would. I’m used to starting the blade in the gap between 2 pieces of cardboard, and then sliding the blade into the tape to cut it, but this isn’t quite sharp enough to do that, so it crumples the tape, or at best tears it instead of cuts it. Not sharp enough, blade it pretty small, cuts ok.

I didn't realize how small this item was until I got it out of the package. It truly is small in the palm of my hand. And the knife is smaller than my pinky nail. I wanted to use this to open boxes and break them down but there is no way this blade can break down boxes. It struggles to cut box tape with fibers in it. I didn't realize the blade on this guy was ceramic when I ordered it. It showed up and I was disappointed that I couldn't just use it right out of the package. I had high hopes for this little cutter however that didn’t happen. I am still not sold completely about this ceramic cutter, but I must admit it works. First of all, this Slice company is all about safety in knives. Therefore, it’s ceramic.
