I purchased this as a 2nd unit for my RV, but only used it for a few months. I had another primary Simplisafe in my house for 4 years. In that time, Simplisafe never updated the technology. Software issues
From a hardware standpoint, the system is extremely simple to install and use. But the software side can become chaotic. We wanted both my phone and my wife's to respond to the doorbell camera. There are no instructions indicating that is even possible, and my attempt at doing so removed the initial functionality for her phone. Calling Customer Service was easy, but even the exceptional knowledge of the system by our tech required 1/2 hour on the phone to learn that not only 2 separate phone...

Spent over $1000 on equipment (wifi extender, outdoor cameras, solar panels, bay station, sensors, keypad, blah blah blah), installation, monitoring...system is less than a year old, constantly drops signal with bad audio over live feed ..sound goes in & out as the video freezes. Not to mention if you get an in app camera alert, video takes an extremely long time to load. Superior security system
I love the entire Simplisafe suite of products. Their customer support has been terrific. I recently moved and, during the sale of my home, the new owners requested I leave the Simplisafe system for them. Customer support was super helpful in transferring the system to the new owners. So, of course, I installed a new system in my new home. Setup is very easy and installing sensors, doorbell, and motion detectors was a breeze.

Doesn't work
Big disappointment. Spent over an hour and a half trying to activate and hook up with customer service. They had me remove batteries, delete the app and download again. Said I needed a new base unit. Then, call gets disconnected and they never call back. System also said it needed to update, "device connection problems" when I'm already on-line, etc. The list goes on. Two way tape will probably just tear your sheet rock when time to remove and require wall repair. That won't be good.

This system has been an absolute nightmare. The system has faulted out and I have had to start over 6 times; leaving the place unprotected with no warning or notification. I hope we have worked through the issues, but I would not now ever recommend your products. If the fix that I worked through with Brenda yesterday, does fix my problem then I MAY be somewhat satisfied. Their fix seemed very "Mickey Mouse" and required a high degree of technical expertise to accomplish. We will see what happen...

Great if you’re only after door/window monitoring
I’ve been a Simplisafe customer for a few years and I’m purchasing this for my parents. Simplisafe is great if you’re looking for something with an easy installation, that offers basic door and window entry protection. It’s not the best solution if you’re looking for the latest technology or the lowest plan price. The basic plan is around $10 a month, but it jumps up to $25 a month the moment you had cameras or an automatic door lock. As for the technology that drives those devices, it’s state...

Purchased on the website. When I opened it, it looked like someone had tried it and returned it. That should have been my clue. In trying to set it up, it wouldn't work, and after spending time on the phone with the manufacturer they decided it was defective and I had to return it to the store. Also, I wasn't able to get another one since they didn't have any more. I had purchased it on sale, but they weren't able to anything for me. Now I'll get to buy it for full price somewhere else.

I have had simpli safe for 6 years now. I have never had problem with mine working. I have set mine off accidently, even keyed in wrong code. The sheriffs deputy does respond fast. I was embarrassed at the same time happy to know it does work.

Have had our system for 7 years now! Works great. No problem at all with sensors, motion detectors, siren etc. sticking to walls, windows. We’ve had the hard wired systems as well at our previous house. Got to expensive to monitor and had to sign a three year contract. Our monitoring with SimpliSafe is less than half of what we were paying and no contract. Great system for reasonable price.
