Amazing value, EXCELLENT weight and great power!!

Excellent chainsaw

This is a solid, excellent chain saw for all household, and light forest work. I chop down a lot of invasive trees in different conservation areas, and this saw has worked well for me for over 4 years of use. I've felled some pretty big trees with it as well, probably too big! But it's never let me down, and is still going strong. Minimal oil leakage as well.

Amazing Little Saw

I already have the Skil 40v saw, but since I have a bunch of Skil 20v tools and batteries, and given it's price, I figured I'd pick up this saw. What Is Not To Like; It's Great!

Owned less than a month, but have used it several times already. It's lightweight is perfect for me as I have occasion to use it in the woods in difficult terrain where my only access is by foot. I have found the battery power ample and lasts quite a while before needing a re-charge. While not intended for cutting large trees and lumberjack work, it is great for smaller trees and trimming. Good value, easy to operate

I like this chain saw very much so far. It's got plenty of power and the battery lasts quite a while. The chain bar is a bit shorter than I expected but the saw is light weight and easy to use. The instructions in the manual are not especially clear or well illustrated. Work on fleshing them out. All in all I would buy it again. A good value.

Don’t pass up this saw

I purchased this saw essentially as a trim saw. I cut pieces generally not larger than 6” diameter. That said this is an excellent saw and not as expensive as other alternatives. It is easy to operate, safe, and does a great job. One caution like all chainsaws you need to clean this saw after about an hour of cutting. Cleaning takes 5-10 minutes to do a good job. bought this saw last year , stored with the rest of my batt. operated tools , this is the ONLY BATTERY THAT WON'T CHARGE , says it is bad , worked when I put away , all my other batteries charged up and worked , NOT MY ONLY SKILL TOOLS BATTERY , NEVER AGAIN A SKILL TOOLS ! POWERFUL BUT NOT FLAWLESS

This little chainsaw is a workhorse that will cut powerfully with its long-lasting 4Ah battery. But it is not without flaws. The fact that the chain oil leaks if not stored just right (the orientation of which is not mentioned in the owner's manual) is annoying. It took me a while to figure out that if I stored it so the oil fill cap is on the bottom, it will not leak unless newly filled. Powerful and Light

The saw works perfect for what I need it for. Don't expect it to work all day without multiple recharges, but to trim limbs or cut fallen tree limbs it works perfectly. I easily sawed through 12" diameter logs without any issue. I made approximately 25 cuts before the battery was drained, but I was done so it did not matter. The saw is also quite light and only runs when you are pulling the trigger with is also nice.

Worked great until it didn't

I used it about once a week for a month, then it wouldn't start. Went through all the trouble shooting, including over the phone with Skil. They said it would have to be replaced. At least they paid for the return shipping. But that was at the end of January and I'm still waiting for a replacement. Cust service said it was "out of stock" (that's Skil cust serv, not Lowe's; it was past the deadline to do a store return).
