Prep work and patients is key.

For full disclosure I tried this paint on my workshop door, it was damaged in a storm and I was going to replace it anyway, so it makes for a perfect test. All information is for a metal exterior door. Cleaning the surface and putting down a good primer goes a long way. I did not do any prep or primer, so i got out what i put in to it. Quick Drying, Low Fumes

I used this for my metal basement door that leads from a finished portion of my basement to the garage side of the basement. The paint is thick and it gives great coverage, I only needed one coat but still did the recommended two coats. 1 QT was plenty for the door, I had a little more than ½ a can left over. Poor coverage, dries too fast, uneven sheen

This paint dries way too fast, it's nearly impossible to keep a wet edge while working the door, so you end up with streaks, and overlap that shows different sheen. I've used a lot of paints over the years and I've never had this many problems getting a professional looking result. After two coats I had to sand the door down and switched to a different brand. It was so easy to work with and dries down quickly. A nice thing about the texture is if you make a mistake it and get it somewhere you don’t want it, it has a bit of a gummy texture while drying that you can easily scrape right off. This paint is for metal doors. I have an old (60+ yrs) metal garden shed that's been through a lot. I thought, if this paint can make the door on that shed look good, then it can make any door look good. The paint is very thick, like pudding and it goes on like butter.
