Effective Have Used For Many Years

For the greatest success remove all weeds before applying Preen. Till or plow the soil to a depth of 1 to 2 inches. Sprinkle Preen using Preen Shaker or hand spreader. When finished, rake Preen into soil. Lastly, water the area thoroughly, give it a good soaking.

Use weed prevention more than once a year

I decided to go for broke and get a giant bucket for this weed prevention. I have used this product for years and usually got the smaller container. But decided it would be smart to spread it in the fall as well to avoid the growth of weeds that can start growing with the slightest bit of warmth at the end of winter and I do not agree that there is enough warmth and am not going out for another month or more before I even think about being outside checking out my weed situation. Solid pre-mulch application to soil

Always put preen down before I mulch every year. It says it keeps the weeds down for 3+months, I would say that's misleading. Probably closer to 2, which is fine for me to not have to be in the yard every week pulling or spraying weeds.
