Preen is excellent for keeping new weeds from growing! I use it every year in my flower garden!

Seemed to Work in Some Areas, But Not All

I put down this Preen Extended Control before redoing my landscaping. While some areas seem fine with avoiding grass and weeds, grass is growing through the pine straw in others. This is only weeks after pulling all old weeds and laying down Preen. For how much money I paid for the extended control version, I am not happy with the longevity or effectiveness of the product. Weeding is a constant chore that nobody wants, and this product didn't seem to work in all areas of our landscaping.

Didn’t work as advertised

I only chose two stars in case I somehow didn’t apply the product correctly. I followed the instructions to the letter and three weeks later there were plenty of weeds growing out of my mulch beds. I’ll keep looking for another solution to prevent weeds from taking over my garden.

Perfect flowerbed weed control

A must for flowerbeds and better than fabric weed barrier. I apply Preen in the spring and I have zero weeds throughout the summer. I apply again late summer to prevent fall weeds.

No more weeding!!

I love this product because it's easy to sprinkle over my flower beds and no new seeds germinate! As long as I remember to sprinkle it at the right intervals, I don't get weeds growing in my flower beds ever!! Its perfectly safe for all the existing plants as I get sloppy and sprinkle it on the leaves of the established or recently planted ones and they are just fine. Great Product. It arrived quickly and well boxed.

This stuff works. I like the 6 month extended best since I only have to apply in the spring. By fall I still have no weeds. For me the trick is to apply it just before a rain in forecast so it soaked into the ground well. I have used this for years now.

Use instead of plastic/fabric

Just recently did my mulch for this year and I got tired of putting down plastic/fabric as the weeds still found a way through. Decided to give this a try this year and put it in before the mulch. So far I haven’t seen any weeds and if it stays like that for the year I’ll definitely be buying again

Easy & Simple application

I love how easy this product is to apply, it comes with a scoop that has holes in the end of it that makes it simple and easy to grab a scoop out of the bucket and sprinkle it around your beds or wherever you’re looking to apply it

Effective at limiting new weed pop ups

Preen does a decent job of preventing weeds from popping up in my mulched flower beds. It acts by creating a barrier on top, so if you disturb the mulch (like rake it, or plant a new flower) be sure to put more Preen down.
