easy to install, but not durable

Assembly and installation were easy, however in 18 months (so outside of the warranty window) the unlatching mechanism stopped working smoothly. The latch would open about 2/3 of the way before making a loud click and no longer moving. Taking apart and cleaning the latch thoroughly did not fix the issue. When it latched, the door would no longer open, so if we had not had a second door, we would have ended up locked in our own house.

Handle keeps falling off

The handle keeps pulling off. Then it hits the ground and causes the paint to chip off. I have tightened it several times and now it won't even tighten anymore!

Pretty but doesn't last

Two years and two months old. Beautiful to begin with. But the brass or shiny plating is thin. After a year, it begins to come off with what I'm guessing is due to my wife's rings? But she only wears one or two occasionally. Inside handle isn't scratched so my theory of rings scratching it may be flawed. But that can be lived with. Ugly door handle? OK. Bought to go on Pella storm door

This set seems to be good quality, however you will need to use an oven mitt to handle it if you also purchased a Pella Low E glass storm door to go with it and your door gets any sun exposure. I am satisfied with the quality of the door, but not the Low E glass. My steel door gets so hot that it is popping and crackling from the heat and it's a typical Texas WINTER right now. Dangerous!! Do not buy!

This product should be removed from the market! The set screw holding the handle on never set positively in the hole, and now has totally stripped. No holding power left. The handle comes off wit a light touch. I'm am an engineer with over 40 years of experience and an experienced home handyman. Horrible experience

Terrible experience. I bought this storm door knob only to replace the same one I already had, but the old was brass, and I needed a brushed nickel finish. This was obviously a returned product. Packaging was open and damaged. Instruction sheet crumpled and dirty. More than half the pieces were missing. The main piece, the most expensive part was not there. No internal Lock Box. Seriously?!?

Like most of these negative reviews I'm frustrated that it doesn't contain the lock box, the old one is striped and bent. everything in the product pictures sure made it seem like a no brainer but now I have to return. I'm not even easily finding just a Pella lock box now I would pick up separately but... really lame.

Perfect replacement

I've had my Pella storm door for about 4 years. The handle set that came with it was looking a bit rough,not to mention that the brass color is just dated and for old people. I went ahead and ordered a replacement in the brushed nickel. I'm not disappointed at all. It seems like it's more sturdy and installation took about 20 minutes. Lowe’s does not know what its contractor is doing.

Lowe’s was to have our new storm door installed on Friday, May 17. I received an email stating that the installation was completed. But the storm door was never installed. I called Lowe’s on Saturday, May 25, and again on Tuesday, May 28. As of May 28, Lowe’s still had no idea what happened and told me I should expect a call from the contractor by May 30.
