Great piece of hardware

My wife wanted to put a sliding door in our remodeled Summer House. She bought this at Lowes. I unpacked the hardware and could immediately tell it was heavy duty. The brackets are approx. 1/4" thick steel(5-6mm). The flat track is also heavy duty and looks to be the same thickness as the brackets. It comes will two different length bolts for different door thicknesses. Top mount sliding barn door kit

The directions called for 1x6x6ft board on the wall first and to attach the rail to it . When we hung the door it was about 3 in out from the doorway opening when the door was closed. We had to remove the board and just attach the rail to the wall. This made a lot of extra work, but in the end it looked much better. We didn't have the large gap between the doorway and the door. We were happy with the look when it was finished.

Smooth glide but...

Hung a solid wood door 84" x 36" and it slides nearly silently. It is sturdy and well made. The two problems I have are that I wasn't aware a 1x6 should be affixed to the drywall before mounting. It makes it look way worse and you can't really get away without it because the mounting holes do not line up with studs. The other issue I think is my fault, there is a slight "down hill" effect and it is a self closing door. It looked like a level mount with the level but slightly off and it will roll...

Pretty....but

This is a very nice piece of hardware, glides sweet, and has all the right parts. But..... instructions call for an additional header that sticks out, totally goofy for this level look. Unfortunately the standoffs are too short to allow mounting the hardware without the sliding parts rubbing the wall. So added 3 washers to each one now it looks and works like how I wanted. If the standoffs were 3/16” longer this would been 5 stars.

Fantastic Hardware!

Pros: -Very easy to install, just make sure you have a drill and a set of drill bits. 1/8, 1/4, and 7/16 bits were all needed. -Looks great! -Works almost too well, the sliding mechanism is incredibly smooth. Cons: -Not super clear on the packaging what tools you will need: - Drill & drill bits - Ratchet set - Nothing else! This really is a great barn door kit.

GREAT door opening option

I purchased a beach home built in the mid 60’s, hence smaller rooms. The master bedroom bathroom door had been retrofitted with a folding plastic doorto allow for better bed placement. Replacing the cheap plastic door with the sliding barn door kit and a six panel door made all the difference in the world........better privacy and much more up to date..

Great kit with easy installation.

This kit was easy to install with clear step by step instructions. I made the door and it was rather heavy, but this kit rolls real smooth. The finish on all the hardware is nicely done and nuts and bolts are well machined. I would recommend installing the door with the 1/4" center post instead of the duel guides.

This is a intro kit for anybody looking for barn door hardware. We installed it without a Problem and still need to paint the header board. I gave four stars for price because it goes up quickly.

Very Nice Barndoor Kit

Very nice looking barn door kit. Nice looking with very well labeled parts and instructions, It seems to be very heavy duty with different options for different kinds of doors included in the kit. It is a very nice product that I would recommend to anyone

Haven’t installed

We ordered three for our new construction home. We haven’t installed them yet so not much of a review yet but they look and feel nice inside the box.
