Nice Product

I’ve used this solid white stain for years. It is very thick (for a stain) and goes on thick like paint. It dries relatively quickly. Clean up of brushes is easy as it is water based. If applied to a smooth surface any dirt or grime wipes off easily.

Expected much better from this brand

Minwax makes some really good, affordable products. They tend to hit the sweet spot on cost-vs-value. Well... unfortunately, this isn't one of their better products. It goes on thickly, has a very short working time, and is incredibly difficult to remove. If you buy this, work in VERY SMALL sections. Do NOT buy online

This is a great product, but unfortunately, when you order it online from Lowes you may only get a can of the base un-tinted product. I am not sure why Lowes does this, but this is my third try and each time I only received the un-tinted base. When I called customer service, the rep told me their system would not let them offer a replacement or provide a refund, so they passed me off to the store who shipped it. Don't by online - you'll get the un-tinted base

I live 40 miles away from the nearest Lowes. so I ordered a quart of this online. Unfortunately, rather than send the Cherry-Blossom tinted version I ordered, they sent the clear base product with no tint. I tried to start an exchange for the tinted product, but this seems to be beyond the ability of their new AI agent. This water based stain is thick just like other gel stains so it covers very well.

Quart of Crap

Awful. This is NOT a stain in ANYwhere close to the traditional sense. “5x thicker”? Why?  To achieve ONE coat? If you’re up to staining your stuff. You don’t WANT one coat unless you simply can’t wait to get back to your smart phone. And “Fast drying”? No, no, no! If you need a black stain, this is it!!

Overall was great product. Left a satin finish and I was able to darken the board to a really nice black. The consistancy of the stain was a little thicker than I wanted but it worked out. Make sure you stain and wipe in the direction of the wood grain.
