I’ve used pre-stain conditioners before but never have I had such bad reactions as with this product. I decided to use it on an oak table top to maximize my chance of an even stain coating. The product says it should definitely be used on soft and small grain woods BUT is suitable for ALL woods. I sanded, cleaned and prepped as directed. Perfect prep for raw wood
I had a surface partially finished, partially raw after sanding and wanted to make sure it would finish even. Prestaining is a simple concept; just brush this in the raw area until it no longer absorbs and starts to pool instead (obviously on vertical surfaces, it will run so have a drop cloth or drip tray ready), leave 10-15 minutes then use a clean lint free rag to wipe away all the excess. Lowes and Fedex sucks
It was supposed to be there on Aug1 and i got a message from Lowes on July 31st that delivery will be made on Aug1. I scheduled handyman to come in afternoon as this was a weekend. No delivery and NO notification on why/where is this stuck. Ofcourse, I had to pay my handyman for nothing.. Will not buy from Lowes again.

This product's absorption prevents blotching and streaking in the stain. It allows for penetration and uniformity of the stain.
Pre Stain
This has a consistency of water, so it goes on very thin and spreads. It only needs to soak in a few minutes before you wipe and then you’re able to stain. I like how easy it was to use, and it improved the stain coverage.
