First off I want to say Metabo HPT products have served me fantastically over the years. I'm a woodworker and also have my own personal shop at home. I run the "yellow brand" at my job everyday because that's what my employer buys. Further, I'm going to compare this saw to those because that's what many buy and believe is the benchmark. Not saying that's a bad brand but compared to this they are pretty lackluster. Here's why! #1 Fine cut adjustments. You can adjust the throat plate to zero cl...
Very solid contender
I am a previous Dewalt DWS780 owner that decided to sell it rather than taking with on a move with the intention of buying a new one if needed again. When I went to Lowe's I had every intention of buying the same exact saw, or possibly the DWS779 for my replacement. My Lowe's had the 779, 780 and the Hitachi C12RSH2 all in a row so I was able to compare all of them very well. Now for those who commented that the new Hitachi is made cheaper than the old one with lighter castings and missing...
Slider bearing broke immediately
I ran a 7 1/4" Hitachi saw for 10+ years and never had an issue with it, I decided to give Metabo saws a try as I have their pneumatic nail guns which work great. I upgraded to a larger saw when I bought my first home and within the first 40 cuts the bearing on the slide blew out, it took 8 months to get it repaired after dropping it off at a warranty facility. After I got it back the bearings blew out again. The quality of my saw is absolute junk, judging from the reviews their quality control ...
Where did the Quality go?
I would like to start off by saying I have never been so disappointed with Hitachi saws. I was so excited to purchase my first Hitachi miter saw. My father has owned the C12RSH saw for about 6+ years. We have built many projects with his saw and i have borrowed it to work on my own projects because my saw just was not good enough. so we recently moved away and i wanted to build up my work shop so i could work on projects with my sons. I have always bought Hitachi tools when I could, so now i was...

C12RSH or C12RSH2 You be the Judge.
I went to Lowe's after looking at Home Depot for a 12" sliding miter saw. I was first interested in a Ridgid brand because of the lifetime warranty. I was disappointed that it is not a store stocked item. Because I couldn't feel it hands on I ruled it out. I turned to Lowes and looked at the Kobalt saw which felt good in hand but was not practical for me due to the long footprint. My eyes scrolled to the right, passing over the Dewalt saw which was over $500.00. I saw the Hitachi C1...
Don't buy, slide will fail with very low use
Do NOT buy this saw, the slide will fail with very low use. I have owned this saw since March 2020 and it has only been thru 4 very small home projects, I'm a disabled vet that has had 3 major back surgeries, so my home projects are very small compared to other people. I went to use it the other day, did one cut using the sliding motion and then went to make another cut straight down and I heard a bad noise. I stopped my cut and looked to see what's wrong. I found that a bushing on the top slide...
Great Saw, precision and has loads of power
Just picked this up recently and its the best saw Ive had. Out of the box its fence is set pretty straight and the sliding part makes it tops. Ive had DeWalt in the past and while i liked them, i have bought many Metabo nail guns and was impressed with their ability and power. So i figured id try this saw as well.I really cant complain about the saw. If there is one drawback its the weight overall of the saw when put away and folded for storage. But such is the case when u buy a saw of this size...

Really nice sliding compound miter saw
I really like this miter saw. Good size, accurate right out of the box, good miter positions with forward mounted locking. It allowed me to replace my old miter saw and radial arm saw and get some counter space back in my shop. My only suggestion is for the design of the two fence extensions. They can only be removed when pulled completely to the side, but I have my saw mounted in a bench so they cannot extend that far. It would be good if Metabo put a small notch in each so they could be l...

It's really less for more.
It's the same saw as the C12RSH, but it doesn't have all of the features that the C12RSH has. However, for example, how often does one need and/or use a micro adjustment to set a miter angle? But, it was offered with a "free" $139 miter saw stand, so I paid $45 more for it...I should have saved the $45 because the "free" miter saw stand is totally useless for me to use. All of my tools are portable so that I can move everything outside to work on my (actually the wife's) projects (my shop is ...
Disappointed
There isn't much good to say about this saw. I own a cheap HBT 12 inch slider that works better. First, the slide on this saw is horrible. It got to the point that it was not slidable at all. Determined the grease had stiffened and become more of a paste. In colder weather, it would not move at all. Sprayed some white lithium grease on slides several times and worked back and forth and it's usable but very stiff still. Contacted Metabo and they want me to carry it to a warranty repair center ove...
