What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the washer for exceptional cleaning performance, with many crediting the agitator design for superior stain removal and fresher-smelling laundry. The large capacity, diverse wash cycles, deep fill options, and see-through lid are frequently highlighted as convenient features. Most find it easy to operate, and many cite decades of brand loyalty and trust in durability. A few report noise during operation and mention a learning curve with water level settings, but these concerns are vastly outweighed by satisfaction with cleaning results and reliability.

After searching different options as I was tired of the front loaders we have had for years... I picked these as a set. I do not like the functionality of the washer at all. As mentioned in reviews it starts agitating before there is hardly any water in it. I have difficulty getting the machine to fill properly, Setting the functions are not stream line. If you change your mind or need to adjust any function it will empty and start all over again, Some of the cycles are over and hour that is cra...
From High Efficiency Agitator Large ( 4.7-cu ft ) Top-Load Washer ( Metallic Slate )
Lasted less than 5 years
I am extremely disappointed with this Maytag washer. I purchased it in July 2021 expecting a reliable, long-lasting appliance, but less than five years later it’s already failing. It recently started making a loud, grinding noise during the agitation cycle—something you absolutely should not hear from a machine that isn’t even that old. For a brand that markets itself on durability and quality, this is unacceptable. A washer is a major household investment, and it should last far longer than a ...

Pros and cons of this washing machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't have a laundry room, I have a pass through from the garage to the hallway. As a result, I am limited in the depth space I have for a washing machine and could not get a front loader machine. My old Whirlpool washer was 17+ years old. It was still working, but was starting to sound sick again, so I decided to replace it. Here are my observations of my new washing machine. 1. Yes, all of my clothes and towels come out of the machine ...

Practical but loud washer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer three weeks ago, and so far so good. Everything we have washed, clothes, pillows, king sized comforters, have come out clean! The controls require a light touch and you need to get used to them. After you turn the machine on, you need to press the start button and hold it there until it counts down from 3 to start the cycle. Sometimes I forget to hold it down, but it’s just a matter of making it part of my routine. The only...

Why the stench?
Previous to this machine I’d had 2 other brands over a period of 49 years. I am so disappointed with the stench I am dealing with all the time. I often have to rehash a load of clothes, or, I’ve learned that I can spray Febreeze into the drier onto the dry clothes and run the drier for 10 minutes and everything smells fine. Sometimes, though, an article of clothing will smell again if it’s been hanging in the closet for awhile. Yes, I know there is a product to use to clean the drum, but firs...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am disappointed in this machine as I don't feel as if it is getting clothes clean. I never overload as there are only 2 of us and I do laundry daily so never have large loads. Not sure machine is getting enough water, have done all the suggestions the manual instructed on this issue, but still not doing a good job.

Noah’s ark
The washer is great when it’s not being a cranky 2 year old. For context, we go this machine 5 years ago.. my washing machine is in my master bedroom closet - upstairs) It washes clothes great but every once in a while it will overfill with water and flood my closet, down to my basement. In all honesty, it has done this 7-8 times.. some sensor in the machine doesn’t work, obviously.. causing it to flood.. when it isn’t flooding my house it is a good washer.. does its job well. Sometimes it won’t...

NEW TO ME BUT I'M HAPPY WITH IT SO FAR!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have only had it a few weeks and it works like it's a solid, well built machine. I like... that it has a large drum and can wash a good sized load....spins out the water well on regular and heavy duty settings....and that the water level, spin, temperature and soil level can be adjusted manually. I also like that when set manually, it does not revert to Auto Settings between loads. I do not have to reset for another load even when I go from...

worst machine ever
Bought the Washer in October 2025, never had I such a disappointment., most of the time it does not wring out all the water from my clothes, so I have use the spin Cycle to have it spin out the water from the clothes. My old Maytag washer was 40 years old and the only thing I ever had to replace was a belt. I'm lucky if this Maytag will last 5 years really upset in the standards of Maytag is so low, this was not a cheap machine to buy, would never recommend this to anyone, and neve buy a Maytag...

Smart Load Maytag Washer-A great machine!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this washing machine! It is easy to use, the right size (27.5" wide) and 4.7 cu ft. The tub is a little bigger and the agitator is a better design than my prior Whirlpool. It may be a little louder during the wash and spin, but really not that noticeable since in the garage. Regular cycle is a little longer than my previous washer as this may be related to the CA water requirements. No worries. I just set it and forget it while working o...
