Good for 5 years
We purchased this washer in a laundry set. The washer worked great for 5 years and then the agitator stopped working. We called the only repairman in town and he came and replaced the actuator and drive pully. After doing 2 regular loads the belt began screaming so he came out a second time and replaced the belt and tightened up the pully, screaming continued with the drive pully beginning to melt. I am extremely disappointed with this Maytag washer. I purchased it in July 2021 expecting a reliable, long-lasting appliance, but less than five years later it’s already failing. Beware of long hoses.
I don’t like the fact that the people that delivered it left 6 feet of hoses on the back that bang against the back of it when it does a spin cycle and it’s in a tiny laundry room. I can’t pull out the machine, so the delivery people should’ve taken care to begin with. I was left to deal on my own. This was satisfactory during the times it was working. It's been down.with major repairs 8-10 times in the 18 months since I bought it. Now the control board went out. Died less than 2 years
I bought this washer after loving the matching dryer. But less than two years in and the washer had a complete control system failure. The main control board is ~$250 retails. I did not purchase the extended warranty is this is not covered by their 10 year limited warranty. Needless to say I am purchasing a new not Maytag washer and getting the warranty. I suggest looking elsewhere for a washer.
