Works great as a remote-controlled switch when paired with the Pico remote. So far I have had only good results with this combo. It turns off and on quickly and reliably, over a distance of about 40 ft. I like that you can pair several switches to operate simultaneously off of the same remote, and that absolutely no wifi, bluetooth, internet, or apps are required to get it to work. BEST SMART SWITCH ON THE MARKET
This device works perfect. I use them in my front yard/driveway and back patio switches for varioius home automation rules, set up with Apple Homekit (for conveinence) and the Xfinity Home App (for security). You do need a Caseta hub for remote access and home automation functions. The hub supports only up to 50 devices so plan accordingly. *One tip i dont think they mention in the directions is that everything comes out nice and flush when you attatch the faceplate mout to the switch itself BE...
If you get stuck, there is always help at Lutron
After installing about 25 or more of these items, it gets real easy and comfortable and I am not even an electrician. If I ever have questions about it's installation (ie. no neutral wire or some bizarre wiring from the previous electrician, Lutron is there to help and resolve the problem(s).

This smart switch is AWESOME! It is so easy to install and setup. By simply downloading the Lutron App you add this switch to your existing ones or just by itself. I linked it to my Google account and it works great with voice commands. Also I setup a schedule thru the Lutron App to have the lights go on at a certain time. I would definitely recommend this switch to everyone for an add on to their smart house.
