Installs quickly if you know what you are doing.
What I liked best about this product was the way it was engineered, which made it very easy to install. Normally I have a lot of trouble lining up the connecting long screws on the inside part with the keyhole side. But with this, you slide in the keyhole side into the door, using a provided Allen wrench you actually remove the knob from the inside part before installing the inside plate on the door. Tumbler stops working after about a year
I bought 3 of these in satin nickel - 1 for each of my exterior doors - along with the matching deadbolts for each door. Installation is as simple as any other door knob. Rekeying using the SmartKey system is also simple - just take your time with this, because one slight misalignment and it will not work, and you'll have basically ruined the knob and need a replacement. Missing parts
I’ve installed this door knob before, and it is solid and attractive. This package did not include the blank to key the knob to the deadbolt - a major selling point of this product - and was missing the black strike plate and screws. Also, the installed knob is wobbly, unlike the prior knob I installed. If you get the whole package with all the parts, this is a good choice to style your exterior door.
