pretty good files, but very overpackaged

These files are ideal for sharpening chain saws. However, I think they should be a little bit sharper. My biggest complaint it that each file is shrink wrapped in indestructible plastic and unless you're going run a razor knife down the side of each file (which a bad idea for the razor knife and the file) it will take you 10 minutes to unwrap them (which is ridiculous).

Backup

I bought these for a job (not to sharpen a chain saw chain) but did not need to use them. They are a nice set and believe they would work well. I will use them when I require a small, round file.

Sharpen your chain

I keep a fire going in my workshop during winter months. A sharp chain and a good chainsaw are two “must have” items for cutting your own firewood. I have tried a lot of chainsaw files and find the Kobalt file from Lowe’s does an excellent job time after time!

Easy use

The files have worked well on sharpening my chainsaw. The associated handle on the other hand is somewhat difficult to get on. Once secure, however it is very comfortable in your hand.

Good tool

Didn’t like the wrap that came with it. Took me 10 minutes to unwrap it.

Solid set of files

I ordered these files to sharpen the blade on my chainsaw. I've only used the 5/32 file, but it seemed to do a good job.

Well worth it good file

If your doing any metal filing you need a food file a cheap one won't do the job I use this one time and time again
