It's hard to make anything this poorly
Metal files are one the the simplest tools in the world - so no company would make one badly these days, right? And certainly not at a price of $10, which is the same as the equivalent from Nicholson (one of the premium names for files). If only that were true. The tang on these is supposed to have flat, straight edges so that it can fit in the handle. Some of them do, some of them don't - and I didn't discover this until the file flipped inside the handle and collapsed while I was using it. It...
Broad file for wide surfaces
I needed to join together an N scale stockcar I had cut a section out of. I was able to smooth out the cut with this file for a perfect joint. This was the specific reason I bought the 12" file
No teeth on one side
Check the file before you buy. The second one of these files I bought in a year had no real teeth on one side. The file would not cut at all on that side. Poor quality control.
Worked for me
It works just like a real file; I used it to remove metal I would have rather milled out - but I don't have a mill.
Very Good File at a Very Great Price!
I got this file to replace a file I've had for over 30 years. The one I had was a 8in., and I went for the 12in.this time, and am glad I did. It works great for putting a edge on my shovel's, and other garden tools. The 12in is much faster, and works better then the 8in did.

12" File
I don't think I've ever bought a Kobalt tool I didn't like. I have a tool box made by Kobalt that I don't particularly care for since the latches won't stay closed. But all the other tools from Kobalt have been great. This 12" file cuts good. It's easy to handle because of its length. It keeps me from bumping my fingers into the blade of my bush axe. Sharp bush axe blades and fingers don't play well together. I would recommend this file.

Need a Good Metal File
It's a metal file and I've used it to sharpen tools and it works just fine.
Quality File
I got this file to sharpen my mower blades. It works well and is made of high quality steel. I also got the Kobalt file handle and it is a must have for any files.

Best File
I purchased this file to sharpen my lawn mower blade and axes. It is really great and I feel that I will be using it quite often. It really sharpened my tools/blade!
