Missing Hardware Prevented Assembly

I purchased this Kobalt 48-inch garage cabinet from Lowe's, and one of the doors arrived missing the pivot pin required to install it. Without this small but essential component, I was unable to complete the assembly and had to contact Kobalt for a replacement door. Kobalt did provide the replacement at no charge, but having a brand-new cabinet arrive without the hardware necessary to install one of the doors was extremely frustrating. Missing part

This is the third Kobalt/Lowe's cabinet-related problem I've had. This 36-inch cabinet arrived with two right-hand side panels (Part D) and no left-hand panel (Part C). The cabinet cannot be completed until the replacement part arrives, which is expected to take several weeks. Kobalt is sending the replacement at no charge, but the repeated missing-component issues are extremely frustrating. The cabinets themselves are stout and strong, but the manufacturer quality control is inexcusable.

Came scratched with askew logo

Though seemingly unopened, the left door came with 4 scratches on the handle. In addition the KOBALT logo is super crooked. Love Lowe’s but this is a bad product! Avoid! August-2026

Missing part!

Worth it

Very easy assembly (the screws are premounted). It is double the weight of almost all of the cabinets of the same size. Smart design and smart looks. I am very pleased. Have someone help you load it. Mine was 160 lbs.

I do like the cabinets. Wish they weren't damaged.

These two cabinets were purchased to complete a garage makeover. Unfortunately there was damage to both. There are dark smudges on the front of both right side doors of each cabinet. . One of the doors has four small dents. The back corner of the base of one cabinet was crushed in. I was able to straighten it out with a hammer and piece of wood.

Overall decent but delivered with dents

It's a toolbox. It's gonna get scuffs and dents. But it would have been nice if I were the one to add them over time, not taken care of for me by assembly and delivery. The sheet metal for the cobalt products I bought is fairly thin and dents. chips, and rusts easily. The shelf I got the day before was already rusting inside the box. But it will do the trick.

Great product, highly recommend

We recently purchased 3 of these units as well as 2 of the wall units and the work table. After reading the reviews, we were nervous about complaints of damage and difficult assembly. We had a very positive experience. Everything was extremely well packaged, all hardware accounted for. Of the 6 pieces purchased, 2 had very minor damage - nothing that was visible after assembly or that caused any issues with the assembly. We highly recommend these units. They are well built and a nice upgrade...

Kobolt cabinet

Unpacked it had dent on backside and door had some scratches on it. Didn't want to pack it back up and load in truck to take back. They did discount it 15% for this.

Great Heavy Duty Storage Cabinet

Ordered and had to reorder twice due to light imperfections and visual damage. Lowe's Finally worked it out with me and the cabinet was delivered on time and per the scheduled time communicated.
