Low quality and short battery life

Bought this product to replace an old gas trimmer that paid its dues over 20 years. Pluses in my mind when purchasing this model were that the battery was rated for properties 1/2-1acre (I have 1/2 acre), and that it has a universal attachment shaft so that I could swap out different tools (such as edger, trimmer, power broom, etc). Phasing out the 80 volt

Over the years I have acquired quite a few of the Kobalt 80volt tools. The edger, tiller, pole saw, blowers and even the weed eater (String Trimmer). The neck of my trimmer broke yesterday, and I called and was told to take it back to Lowes. I was told the 80 volt was no longer available. I got an instore credit instead! All I wanted was the part for the neck to hold guard and head on! Now I have to start replacing my entire system, i guess!

Good and Bad

I purchased my first one in April of 2018 and it worked flawlessly until last weekend when i got halfway through weed eating my yard. I went to Lowes to get a gas powered trimmer to replace the Toro 4 stroke that I had worn out. I have two acres of land and a 385 foot driveway that I trim. Too Heavy for me...

I purchased the Kobalt 80-Volt Max 16-in Straight Cordless String Trimmer about 24 months ago. I just put it for sale in my neighborhood. I don't want it any more. While they unit has more than enough power (two settings), the battery lasts more than enough time and the battery charges quickly, it is HEAVY and I feel it is balanced wrong. Dang good weed eater

Okay, I have always hated electric weedeaters, and loved my gas power. But, I am so tired of them dying every two or three years!
