If you exhibit some level of patience, this tool works very well to remove shingles. Start from the peak and work downwards. That way all the shingles and debris will not buildup. If you think it will be like shoveling snow or mud, dispell that notion. Work slowly and methodicallly removing the the roofing nails on each row and then push the shingles as they come loose.

So glad I bought this tool
Used this tool to remove cedar shakes from old shed. Barn shakes, nailed down 40 years ago with 16p galvanized nails. Works great. Holding up very well. I don't know what I'd do with out it. I turned the fulcrum piece over and changed the pry angle and got more lift. Prying out the 16p nails is a huge chore, glad it has a fiberglass handle.
Great Quality!
I live in a very windy area so I am constantly replacing shingles on my shed roof. It has become such a patchwork of different colored shingles that I finally decided to replace all of them this past weekend. When replacing one or two shingles, finding a random tool to pull them up isn't a big deal. Replacing the whole roof is a different story! This Kobalt 28in roof shingle remover was absolutely what I needed to get the job done fast! It is easy to handle and strong enough for even th...
Sturdy Tool with Multiple Applications
If you are looking for a medium duty shingle remover to assist with a DIY roofing job, this is a great tool. The fiberglass handle makes the tool lightweight yet strong and durable and will be able to keep up on all jobs, with maybe the exception of some tough commercial applications. The teeth and pivot head feel extremely sturdy and well made. Two sturdy steel bolts keep the face attached to the base and also provide ease of removal if you need to replace the face. I plan to use the tool to re...
Sub for ice removal with last ice storm
Great to remove ice from the last ice storm which was a pain to get up.
Really a great tool!
This is a great tool for removing shingles, nails, and plywood. The handle is built for comfort, cushioning impacts on your hands. This worked perfectly when sitting on the roof. It's easy to maneuver. It pries out nails easily without sending them flying in all directions. It gets under the shingles properly. It's also built super strong, dare I say almost indestructible?
I would not buy again.
Not a great product but since it qas just one time use for a small.job and I was in a pinch I bought it because this is the only one available in store. Would not recommend.

Waste of money
Ended up using my spade shovel. This just keeps getting caught where you don't want it. Wish I could get my money back.
Back saver!!!
Awesome short shovel!! We tackle a roofing repair around a chimney. The short size allows for you to sit on your roofing pad and remove singles with ease. Love the fact that when teeth are worn you can simply buy a new set of teeth and not a new shovel. The fiberglass handles keeps it cooler to handle. Great sturdy and comfortable shovel. Will get a second one and I recommend it to everyone needing to remove shingles.
Bad angle
Terrible design the angle of the blade is horrible. Regret buying this shingle shovel. This shovel might work for anyone under 5 feet tall for anyone else it is no good.
