Kobalt 24V Brushless Belt Sander Starter Kit

Not worth the hassle

One battery sanded ONE board on my deck. Lucky if it lasts 5 minutes. So because I had a backup battery, I was able to do 2 boards. I have other Kobalt products, and no complaints. This sander was a huge disappointment.

Buy plenty of Sanding belts

Powerful sander but will eat batteries like crazy

The sander has a powerful motor and does what a good belt sander is supposed to do. The issue is that it drains the battery so fast, it makes it really difficult to stay on the project without a number of fully charged batteries available on demand. I used two 4Ah batteries but I couldn't complete the job and had to resort to my old plug-in Makita

Solid sander

Works great at removing material and getting a good sand. The dust collection is a little lacking but for how much it removes I’m not too surprised. Definitely recommend.

If I could give this sander zero stars, I would. Maybe it was my mistake thinking this belt sander could sand a door that had already been stripped - boy, was I wrong. This sander could not. Awesome sander

I bought this to refinish my porch. There is no outlet out there, and I already had a few Kobalt tools and batteries, so it was a no brainer. It performed well, taking off the old paint easily and quickly. The only problem that I encountered was really my own fault. I used the lock button the hold the trigger in the on position so it would be easier on my hand. The tool is terrific. The batteries are terrible. They take forever to charge and die within 10 minutes. I have two batteries, labeled extended run. The only thing extended is the charging time. I could live with the minuscule battery life if it weren't compounded by the forever charging time, which leaves me with more down time than work time. None of the other tools I have from any other company takes so long to charge, and none has such short battery life. It's killing any momentum I build...

Keep it moving, don't sand in one spot too long

With any know how with sanding this is a great tool for smaller work or spaces! Easy to balance, maneuver, change paper and plenty of torque to sand things quickly. I highly recommend a spare battery because you're going to find projects to use this. I went with a bigger 8 ah battery because I wanted to put in hours of continuous work.

First let me say that all these people giving 1 star review to Kobalt BARE tools need to learn to read before purchasing. All tool manufacturers sell bare tools without batteries or chargers. Ok, now that that is of my chest let me say this belt sander is great! Lots of power to get the job done quick. It is battery hungry put puts out work to match that hunger. Definitely want to use a minimum of 4 amp hour battery and have an extra on charge if you got a lot of sanding to do. As with all Kob...
