First one I bought did not work. Took back to Lowe's same day and got replacement. Second one works fine. Its not super heavy, and it cuts pretty well for an electric saw. I immediately took it out and cut the thickest dead branch I needed to cut, and it ate it up. I want to see what it does with a full charge, but so far I like it. I haven't had a need to use it yet, but I did test it and it seems great! Looks like it will be powerful enough to cut a decent size branch.

We have yet to use our kobalt chainsaw as of yet or know how long the battery will last on a charge. I can't really review the product as of yet.

Only will work with 1 Battery

I have multiple Kobalt 24v Tools, my new impact drill has the same exact battery, however this chainsaw will only work with the battery it came with. I followed all the online recommendations of cleaning the terminals, discharging the battery and allowing it to "recode" , but I'm limited in what I can do with this saw. Love it otherwise, but I only get a 20min run time which when cutting trees/branches...isn't much.

Cuts well

easy to use, cuts well. First, I have not been a battery powered anything, having had battery tools years ago only to have the batteries die within a year and replacement cost as much as the tools. So, I went with the weed eater first, only because a wonderful Lowes employee recommended it. Came with non functioning battery

Bought this chainsaw to cut a few small logs for firewood. The battery will not charge even after troubleshooting. Just flashes red. Chain is also difficult to get desired tension. Garbage. Returned 2 hours after purchase. Huge waste of time

Kobalt battery powered chainsaw

I bought this chain saw because it was the least expensive, quality, option. It has an excellent instruction manual; probably the best one I have ever gotten with a power tool. The battery life is good, although I am getting a spare battery. I have a LOT of cutting to do and don't want to stop because of a dead battery. The charging time is quick. Read the manual before using this saw. I will make things much easier.

Good But good be Better!

Great if you’re away from the branches. If the palm tree tapers at the top, it’s hard to cut close to the main trunk. Wish the blade could pivot to a 90 degree angle. Then you could cut closer while you’re right under the branch.
