If you work on vehicles as a weekend warrior or even a pro, I wouldn't hesitate buying this if you are in the Kobalt line and want to get a cordless ratchet. It is not the fastest turning compared to other brands, but speed is not so important in a cordless ratchet as torque and serviceability. This tool is quite long, so depending on the application of the fastener you are trying to remove, you can actually get-to harder to reach fasteners lower on a motor, but that also may hinder you in tigh...

BIG. well built

This thing I This ratchet is big. It is also extremely well built. I feel like I could use this for driving nail when I can’t find my framing hammer. I really wish it had a higher torque rating especially since Milwaukee boasts 60 ft. Lbs. on a tool that’s 1/3 the size and half the voltage. Well-built but just too big.

I have to admit I am a Kobalt power tool fanboy. However, I just cannot recommend the Kobalt cordless ratchet. It's very well built but it's just too big to really be useful in doing automotive work. It is too difficult to get into tight places if you were using it while working on machinery that is open it's great. Also it's a little too powerful while doing delicate jobs. In a powered ratchet I am more interested in speed rather than powe. I can apply more power when needed by manually turnin...

Extremely well built ratchet!

Just picked it up from online in store delivery. It's very solidly built and very torquey. Tested breakaway torque at 55 foot pounds with a "running" start. 47 foot pounds from a stationary start. Tightens to about 43 foot pounds. Infinitely variable trigger control of the rpm in either direction. Very solid molded plastic handle give good balance. Would be heavy beast with a four amp hour battery! Great fit and finish! Well done Kobalt!

Great tool!

First of all this is an electric Ratchet… not an impact wrench. This is a fabulous product. Only 50lbs of electric action, but is rated at 150 ft/lbs of manual action. It is a little larger than a normal ratchet, but if you use air ratchets this is similar in length. Did a hub assembly, front axle replacement on my jeep. Made my job so much easier and faster. This has been a great purchase so far!

Skip it!

Finally got the chance to use it and it couldn't loosen an o2 sensor that had been on my son's car for about 3 years. Grab a ratchet and socket and without a grunt...o2 sensor was out. My life is son busy and I really haven't had a chance to use it until yesterday after close to a year of ownership. If it could turn back time, I'd continue walking past it. First Kobalt tool to let me down. I'll still buy Kobalt, but will not recommend this tool.

This ratchet is a life saver! Zoop zoop and you're done, instead of minutes you're done in seconds. I really like the way the tool feels in your hand. The trigger with the variable speed is so handy. Very well built and with the quality of the Kobalt name you can be assured this product will last a lifetime. Buy with the JimmyZ stamp of approval.

Ver' Nice

This is super handy and if you already have a lot of kobalt tools I recommend it. Some other brands have a nicer battery design which makes them slightly more useful in tight spaces but I use this regularly on cars with little issue.

good ratchet

it works well the past few years ive been using it. but it is way too long. id like to see a 12 volt system that uses a stick battery like a milwaukee, or a very compact box battery like the hercules. i want to replace my ratchet soon and id prefer to stay with kobalt, but im switching to something more compact.
