Kobalt (2-Pack) Large 20.0 -Gallons ( 80.0 -Quarts ) blue Heavy Duty Stackable Tote with Latching Lid

Takes a Crow Bar to Open

Ridiculously difficult to unlatch. My wife will NEVER get these open and I’ll end up ripping the latches off. Don’t bother!!!!

Very tough tote with a see through lid!

I ended up getting a four piece set that included the small 5 gallon tote (about 14"x19"x10") the medium 12 gallon tote (about 19"x28"x10") and the large 20 gallon tote (about 15"x28"x15 1/2") as well as a plastic milk crate box. All are awesome and perform better than expected. I'm very happy with how durable they are and the clear plastic top. It's nice being able to see what's in the tote without having to open them up. I'm using the 5 gallon tote to keep tools in the back of my truck and ...

Super durable but hard to open/close

Ok so on the upside, these are seriously heavy duty. These massive bins are made of hard unyielding plastic, and definitely seem to be airtight. I would feel totally comfortable using these for outdoor storage. However, on the downside, they’re heavy even when they’re empty. So keep that in mind if you’re thinking of storing them on a higher shelf or ceiling mount garage storage. The other thing I don’t like about them is how hard it is to open the latches. There are six latches on each bin, and...

Top of the line heavy duty totes

When I first received these stackable totes, I thought they would be like other totes that I have around the house in the garage and in the attic. Those other totes are kind of flimsy, the lids never snap on correctly, and they are not waterproof at all. These totes are nothing like that. These totes are heavy duty, sturdy, waterproof, and the lids actually snap in in 6 different locations. Also, you can open the lid like a cooler (without taking it all the way off) if you unsnap 4 of the sn...

5/12/20 Gal. Kobalt Waterproof tote review

These USA made lifetime warranty Kobalt totes are fantastic thus far. My main intention for the 5 gallon tote is to carry around dry items to my children's outdoor sporting events to ensure things stay dry during harsh weather and simply for organizing the mass of items we have to bring for a large family. These will be perfect for hunting/camping season as well, I can't wait! These Kobalt totes are very rigid, the latches secure very tightly, and lids have a nice quality rubber seal around the...

Not Manufactured Correctly

These kobalt boxes appear to be very similar to the competitors red in house brand boxes. Both are made in the usa with similar dimensions and specs. They are definitely different, but they take up the same over dimensions and have a very similar latch mechanism and sealing gasket. I was excited for this because I like to color code my stuff, and having 2 different color boxes can help in that. Unfortunately. Here is the bad. Negatives: The lid's don't latch properly. the quad side latches wor...

Excellent choice

Outstanding containers. The first thing that got my attention when I was checking out this product was that if you leave two of the same side latches latched they work as a hinge for the lid so you don’t have to worry about where that went. I’m very confident that it will be waterproof / moisture proof because of the high-tech rubber seal in the lid, and what I store in them will stay airtight. I especially like the clear lid because you can see what’s in the box and don’t have to open them all...

Nice features but a problem also

I find them to certainly be capable of waterproof conditions, with weather stripping cushioned between the lid and body along with a (maybe a tad too tight) of a clasping mechanism. Although, waterproof does require a very tight fit. So I just press down gently on the end I’m latching & it catches just fine, eventually. Very stack-able, I especially like the smallest of the three. Great for outfitting a garage when you’ve got a lot of different things you don’t want to just toss into one la...

Heavy Duty and Water Resistant

The Kobalt Heavy Duty Stackable Tote is Kobalt blue with a clear top. The top can be latched at all sides and the latches can be hinged in pairs on the “long” sides. Integrated into the lid is a weatherstrip to make the tote water resistant and dust proof. I doubt if you can submerge the tote in water and keep the contents dry. Latches take some force to open or close. I have three sizes of these totes and all are stackable and the lids operate in the same manner. The tote and lid have reinforce...
