expiration date!!

The plastic top degraded and broke off when I went to open a partially used can. I called the telephone number on the can and I was told there was a 6 month expiration for open cans. Nowhere is this written on the label. I was told I should have looked on their website for this.

Great cleaner

Use this product to clean away residue before painting. Refurbished a 2007 JD Gator; sanded the old finish with 220 sandpaper and repaired dents with body filler. After finish sanding, I used the Klean Strip the wipe away residue and provide a clean surface for painting. Helps to get a smooth finish with a good paint bond,

Do Not Use For Kilz Original!

I use lacquer thinner to clean my rig when I spray kilz original and I guess I usually get my thinner from the paint store because this time everything went worng when I used this thinner. I clumped the kilz and turned it into a paste as well as clogged my filters in my spray rig. I took me awhile to figure out what the problem was and of course cost me a lot of time and money since I paint for a living. On a hunch, I picked up a gallon of lacquer thinner from the paint store from the brand Crow...

The smell is very strong.

I like the product for thinning the lacquer, and it's a good price.

Need to remove labels?

My neighbor is building a house and has a lot of new appliances, windows, bath shower door, etc. with "stickers" on them. He's tired a number of glue removers with minimum success. I recommended that he use lacquer thinner. Gave him a can with about 3 inches left in it. Two days later he was thanking me profusely saying that it worked on EVERYTHING and his wife was finally not mad at him. But then two days later she got mad again--- when he used the lacquer thinner on some plastic panels ...

The lid is a chore to open

This product works well for clean up after painting parts.

I prefer using this for final surface prep on wood or metal. Dust, dirt, oils, finger prints are clean plus Lacquer thinner evaporates quickly leaving no residue.
