Great tool for rough work

This rasp was just what I was looking for. I was looking for a coarse tooth blade for some rough work I was doing with rough cut lumber and this tool did the trick. The only thing they could do better is put a hanging hole through one of the handles. I prefer to hang a tool like this so it doesn't get dulled if stored in a drawer with a buch of other heavy metal tools. I drilled a hole in the forward smaller handle.

Sturdy, well made tool, sharp blade

This is a huge step up for me in rasps. I’ve only used cheaper, less stable rasps with small handles and it was often frustrating. This is a whole other level. It’s a well put-together tool, feels firm and solid in your hand, giving you a lot of control and accuracy. Handy — for light duty

The adjustable handle is a nice idea. It's also a clue that this isn't a heavy-duty tool. I used it to plane an ancient door made of yellow pine with many old coats of paint — you wouldn't throw an expensive wood plane at a job like that. Surprisingly efficient, strong, well-made file.

I had never used a rasp file before, but I like this tool. It works on wood and sheetrock. I was a little worried about the strong teeth on sheetrock as I am used to sanding, but it did a good job. Adjustable rasp

I will be roughing in some electrical outlets, and need a rasp to trim the hole to fit electrical boxes. This one has an adjustable rear handle, which I think is a nice feature. You can press a small button, and the handle can either lock in an upright position, or in a "straight line" position. Great tool for end-grain work on wood doors!

This is the best rasp plan I’ve ever used. I recently installed new flooring and none of my doors would open. Needed to shave at least a 1/2 inch off the bottom of each door. This Jorgensen plane did it almost as fast as a power tool with better control. The 2 position handle is definitely a plus. The teeth are aggressive but I didn’t think they would shave wood doors as good as they did. I didn’t need to, but changing the blade seems simple enough and does not require a Alan wrench. Sharp, well designed with good ergonomics

After inheriting my dad's work-wooding tools, it has been a while since I've used a newly sharp rasp plane. Wow! The Jorgensen rasp worked great to clean end grain edges off some plywood pieces that had just been ripped. I am very surprised and impressed on how far the planer has come. I really like how the handle is adjustable and the other end to hold for better control. I also like the idea of getting a replaceable blade. But i plan on putting it back on the box it came on because if its picked up wrong you can get cut on the little sharp teeth. Over all good product!!
