Go board
Great product. Weighs way less than hardie board and durarock. I used this for shower walls and to make inset shelving. Worked great. Used waterproofing membrane on top of it. It wasn't needed but it covered all my seams and corner joints on walls and shelving. Everything worked amazing. Would definitely recommend
Light, practical, be aware of itchy fiber
GoBoard are great for DIYers and tight space. I have a tiny bathroom to remodel and I need every inch possible. The GoBoard allowed me to remove any old drywall and replace them with the goboard. It's easy, light, and easy to cut and place. Just need some sealant (strong scent warning btw) and then you are all set. Lightweight and Easy, but Not as Solid as Expected
I had mixed feelings using the Johns Manville GoBoard Backer Board. On the positive side, it’s lightweight and easy to handle, which definitely makes cutting and installation simpler compared to traditional backer board. That said, I wasn’t very impressed with the overall rigidity. It doesn’t feel as solid as standard cement backer board and has a noticeable amount of flex between studs, which gave me a bit less confidence during install. I use this for a purpose you might not expect. It makes a terrific "support" for painting...acrylics or oil. I put a coat or two of gesso on it, or glue on linen with PVA. Lightweight, super tough, water resistant, cuts like butter on a table saw, fits in the back of my Jeep Cherokee. The cost per "canvas" is less than the cheap canvas board you can buy at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. The neutral gray color works great with a clear gesso also.

Great substitute for cement board!
My project to remove a shower insert and replace it with tile was made much easier with this Go Board. In the past i had used the heavy cerment board so was dreading this project. I decided to try the light weight and easy to cut Go Board and am so happy that i did! It is lightbweight, easy to transport, and a cinche to cut to fit the size of any area. Not Approved in California
DO NOT USE if you plan on having your bathroom permitted. City inspector will not approve it as this product is not compliant in California to be used in shower walls or shower tubs. Lowes will not reimburse you if the product is not approved as it is stated in their website that it is not ASTM C1288 Compliant. You can use it anywhere else in the world apparently but not California.

Super light but durable
Super light and easy. To install was able to solo install these boards in my bathroom on 12 foot aceiling they cost a decent amount but worth it for the money will use them again for other projects where I want more water resistant materials also used one as a catch to protect my custom handicapped shower while I was removing the plaster ceiling and was able to use it on the project so super durable
Great price! does the job
Great value for the price. This GoBoard was easy to cut and install, and it’s much lighter to work with compared to traditional cement board. Better than Cement Board
I’ve used other backer boards, like cement board, in the past. They’re heavy, challenging to cut cleanly, and require additional waterproofing membrane applications. GoBoard is super light, easy to cut with a utility knife, and waterproof. There’s no reason I won’t be using this again for future projects.
