The vise grips work well. The locking handle and the release handle seem to be a little lighter duty than I would hope for. Overall they work well and should last a long time.

I guess if you just did, maybe, pipes, they would be "ok". But I've not tried them on pipes. On smaller things they "slip" in order to close, so forget clamping a smaller item, as they slip off. Larger things I tried the angle was just not good, so they won't grip right, and the slipping also happens and that impedes usage. As I said, maybe a pipe would work well with them, but, I've not tried. Waste of money from my point of view.

Irwin is quickly becoming my hand tool of choice. As good or better than most of the "premier" tools and at a better price. Only thing I didn't like is I got the last 2 pak

get a grip

From experience, I have learned a cheap vice grip is a waste of money. Irwin is not in-expensive, but worth the money. The plastic bumpers don't like to stay on, but that is my only gripe.

Awesome Vise Grips

I have bought and owned many vice grips over the years,cheap one/knock-offs, but I bought my 1st real pair the other day and I have to tell you that it is money well spent.

Good tools

I've used Vise-Grip for years, good tools. I did have an issue with the soft face covers trying slip off in certain conditions.

Just what I needed

These vice grips work great and the smaller handle opening makes it a lot easier to set them in hard to reach areas. I have 3 sets of vice grips in my bag and I always reach for these first!

light duty

Works well for most of my welding work I do now but they are light duty.
