This ring provides more space for wires per NEC. I discovered a doorbell transformer in my attic that had been place into a 4 square box. The transformers size prevented a cover from being placed. With this ring I was able to increase the size of the box and get a cover on it.

Quality and affordable electrical box

The manufacturing appears to be good quality and consistent. The price is reasonable and the size is perfect for what we were needing.

Very helpful in extending an electrical box to properly fit components and close .

4" box extension

So this worked out really well as as a Box extension. I had a 4" square Box that was recessed in the wall a little bit, and This extension brought it out just past the wall surface. I used one of the 3 quartering knockouts to make my electrical connection I highly recommend

Does its job, not fancy though

Is a well manufactured and dependable product. I like that there seem to be fewer sharp edges that will cut into whatever cabling or other items will be inside the box (those sharp lips are very good at slicing into the FPL cabling I install on a regular basis)

Missing screw

Unbelievable that the picker would grab an item missing one of two screws needed to secure cover plate

Raco metal electrical boxes always my first choice

I have used Raco metal electrical boxes and cover plates for more than 50 years and have never been disappointed. The quality has been constant over the decades. This extension was used in the roof area of a horse barn.
