Binding Threads

Screw holes not properly threaded I had to re-thread the screw holes to be able to screw into the box. All of the boxes I checked, would not let me screw in the small screws by hand at the store. I was replacing a box because I broke the screw trying to screw into the box. The new box would have done the same. So I had to re-tap the threads in the box. I spend $30 for a set of taps to fix a $2.50 box.

Perfect New Work Box

I used this box for the 50 pound load rating. The vanity light for this location was larger and heavier than the 6 lb rating on the of the round old work box used for other vanity lights. This was in a new wall so I could mount it securely above the new vanity. This box could also be used in an existing wall if you were lucky that the location just happened to land on a stud or ceiling joist. But it is ideal for new wall or ceiling locations where a board can be added to support it.
