What Customers Are Saying
The mower provides excellent performance and power, handling large, uneven, and tall grass with ease for a smooth, even cut. It has impressive battery life, allowing customers to mow their entire property on a single charge, and operates quietly compared to gas-powered models. Customers appreciate the convenient features like the storage compartment and mulching capabilities. However, some have experienced occasional malfunctions and issues with reliability that require repair or replacement of parts. Overall, with proper care and maintenance, the mower appears to be a high-performing and convenient electric zero-turn option.

I purchased a Greenworks Pro CRT 428 and took delivery from Lowes on March 29, 2026. I bought it from Lowes because they were nice enough to put it together for me. If you buy it directly from Greenworks, some assembly is required. My trouble started the day it arrived. It came with six batteries, one of which, was clearly beat up and wouldn’t charge. I finally got connected to the right customer service person (the number on the mower is for commercial, hence, the incorrect number to call...

Good momer for flat property only
I bought this in 2024. If I had flat ground, I would rate 5 stars, but I have rolling property. It is hard to keep it going straight when you are on a 15 degree incline, or any incline. It is fast and effective. It cuts well and except for the problem on inclines, it works great. I wish I had bought the old style with the steering weel for my property. It is relatively quite and the batteries last a long time. It's nice not having to store gas, oil and changing spark plugs and air filters every ...

Great Mower
Wanted a new ridding lawn mower. I researched several and the zero turn was what I decided I wanted. I live in the country so running out of gas is not an option so battery powered was a great option. Have used this zero turn for 3 years now and it has been a great experience. It runs so smoothly and is durable and just as fast as a gas mower.

Regretting buying this mower, horrible batteries
Major issues after 3 years, 6/6 bad batteries, error codes, etc. Within the first year my first of 6 batteries died. Greenworks replaced as it was still within the 3 year warranty. The next spring two more batteries died (originals) and GW replaced those. I'm now a few months past the end of my warranty and my last 3 original batteries have died. Now down to just the 3 replacement batteries. which seriously reduces my cut time. Aside from this I'm getting error codes relating to both the e...

Fun to Mow Again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to go with the Battery Operate Riding Lawn Mower for several reasons. 1) I am getting too old (75 year old, female) to continually have to fill up heavy gas cans, lift them up to fill the tank and smell the fumes as I mow. 2) No more oil and filter changes, spark plug changes and battery maintenance. I am so happy that I ditched gas and took the plunge to Battery Operated. The mower has been a dream to ride with comfortable seat, spe...

Not bad, but could be better
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So as a mower, it's pretty good. Be prepared to buy new tires (stock are slippery) and new blades (stock are soft steel). Quick to drive around, it's a little sloppy in its turns compared to a gas mower but it's minor. My BIGGEST, massive complaint is that you can't plug it in to charge it. It's really comically dumb having to haul six batteries back and forth. I have a car charger, this mower should have port to charge off of that OR at least...

Upgradeable?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower when it first came out. Initially Greenworks calculated that you would be able to cut 1 acre, but you would be lucky to get through half an acre with the supplied batteries. Luckily I have purchased other products in the 60v battery line and that has made it possible to get through about 3/4 of an acre. They have recently released a new version of this mower that supports a bigger battery but there is no way to get that bat...

Amazing mower. Top quality, LONG battery life.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing riding mower! Delivered to my house. A little complicated to get the mower off the steel-framed crate that it was shipped on, but that's because it was packed and strapped so securely. The packing itself revealed what a professional, quality company Greenworks is. Once I had it in my garage, it was easy to complete the set-up: installing the seat and steering arms and charging the batteries. The mower, the parts, and the instructions we...

Why buy a gas mower?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice mower. Seems to be very well made. Have used it only 2 times on about 2 acres. Plenty of power and only used 60% of the battery charge. Noticeable power going uphill. Replaced a John Deere rider that just creeps uphill after running for 30 minutes. If you have what I would call a country property that is not a manicured smooth lawn, this machine appears to be what you need.

Crappy service and warranty support.
I thought this would an answer to prayer after owning gas mowers for over 60 years. Shortly after I receive this mower it 2022 it started giving a MR23 code. This means the right mower is overheating. I contacted Greenworks and they were great and sent out a new motor. It was late fall so when the motor arrived I put it on the shelf for install in the spring of 2023. Installed it and it did not work. So I put the old motor back and mowed. The mower would mow about 3/4 of my 1.5 acre and t...
