What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the system for exceptional coverage improvements, with many reporting dead zones eliminated and speeds dramatically increased across large homes. Setup is consistently described as easy and intuitive through the mobile app. However, a notable group experiences frequent disconnections and mesh point failures requiring regular restarts. Some mention software limitations and missing features compared to earlier models. Despite these drawbacks, most customers consider the coverage and speed improvements worthwhile upgrades.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I must’ve been living in the dark ages all this time. For the past 3 years I had a regular router from a brand that has been making modems and routers for decades now. I wanted the Google Wi-fi, but those pills were a little pricy and I couldn’t be sure that they would reach everywhere. So I opted for a range extender instead. My apartment is two floors. My router is downstairs in the living room with my bedroom directly above that. Wi-fi was a...

Easy to set-up and use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This router has by far been one of the easiest to set up and get ready for use. I just had to open the Google Home app and add the router by scanning the qr code on the back of the router itself. From there on all I had to do was enter the wifi name and password. The router has a range of 2200 sq ft which has not faltered for me. I noticed a boost in wifi range and my devices worked smoother in the areas that were troublesome in my downstairs l...

Fast and Reliable
First I want to start out with how easy it was to get the Nest all working, just needed to connect it via my pre-existing line from my current modem. Then do a few simple steps in the Home app.Now lets talk about how it works, it is like any other router, with the added perk of being able to have multiple points creating a seamless connection. My home netwrok went from about 15 mbs to 100 mbs (What I actually pay for). Some bad bits. The routers do not support forced bandwidth, so if you want to...

Great when it works - not when it doesn't.
I've switched from Google WiFi to the new Google Nest for my 3,200 sq ft home and I've made three observations so far: 1) When everything works the coverage is very good and the signal is strong, however sometimes one or two points will disconnect from the router for no apparent reason and I've had to restart the offline point to get it back online. Why? 2) Only the router has a LAN port for cable output. I prefer to use a cat5 cable for things like streaming devices or security cameras for t...

Not a helpful wifi system. Google dropped the ball.
To start with, setting up the Nest Wi-Fi Router and access point was not easy. It took over 10 factory resets just to get through the installation. Most often I would get to the end of it, finalizing the access point and testing the mesh which it said was great, then immediately it would lose connection and the offered trouble shooting steps did not work. - Factory reset. The next issue is the lack of a separate 2.4ghz band. Apparently Google in it's wisdom thinks we don't need one, or at least ...

Google mesh system
This is my second mesh system- I have the original one at my house (base unit and 3 points) and the other (latest) in a second home/cabin. I just set up the cabin - 2500 ft2, and I used the base and 1 point. Big improvement over the standard Spectrum wifi unit. High performance there is needed because we use the spectrum streaming app on multiple TVs with no cable box, and also cell service is sketchy there so we need good strong wifi to use the wifi calling/texting while in airplane mode on...

Doesn't live up to the hype
I had high hopes for the mesh system, but it's not good. I have 1. 2 gbps fiber in a 2,600 sq ft house built in 2017 nd have the Nest wifi router with 3 points.First, the wifi is terrible at going through floors. I originally had the router directly below the upstairs wifi point, but the mesh indicated a weak connection. I now have the points in the hallways in somewhat of a line and the connection is much better. However, saying they're better is not saying much. I only get about 70 mbps in my f...

Nest Wifi
I had high expectations of this product. We are a gaming family and speeds have always been something I've tried to get the most out of. Having a high end Nighthawk, I was curious if we could improve even further on that. Enter the mesh wifi. With the goal of strengthening the signal throughout our home (1,600sqft) it did just thr opposite. After having everything set up correctly (I did this multiple times to ensure I wasn't missing something) my Xbox in the master bedroom was only running 65mb...

Works ok, a lot of interference though
I've been using for about a year. I have a 2 story, 3200 square feet home. I am currently using 4 points plus the router. I have the router in the center of the home and the points in the 4 corners of the home. I started with only the router and 2 points and I had a lot of spaces that didn't get good wifi. With adding a point, there was an adjustment period where there was a lot of dropped wifi - not just in areas but completely dropped. The 1st time, under direction of google support - fa...

WAY BETTER, but has its own setbacks.
Hi all,As of now I have now had the experience of having used both the Google WiFi Mesh and this, the Nest WiFi Mesh and well both systems have their pluses and minuses. Google WiFi pluses are they have 2 ethernet connectors on each pod allowing you to connect items directly to them or a switch away from the main router and any one can serve as the router vs only one plug-in on the router on the Nest WiFi with nothing else but just pods for everything else. Nest Wifi pluses are AC2200 MU-MIMO Wi...
