Owned a Nest thermostat since it first came out in 2012, and it was an excellent thermostat. It stopped functioning start of heating season 2022 and replaced it with current generation. Great smarts & remote access, known hardware fault

The backplane to wire the thermostat is great - the circular mount is something everyone should have. The Nest hardware itself is fine. However - both the 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen (this unit) have had issues for nearly ten years with the relays on the backplane. Oil heat setup problems and Google Home is a joke.

Horrible product - nothing but issues from day one. Turning down low at night in freezing temps - common issue across many users. Make the changes to stay at a certain temp then of course reverts back. Finally got it - contacted customer support numerous times - weeks later - still no response.
