Bought the washer May 25, 2021. Two years after owning it I had to replace a circuit board I had bought an extended warranty so it was covered . Molds no matter how often you clean it.
Called GE and they stated “you can clean it”. It gets cleaned often, but it still produces more mold than you can keep up with. Matching dryer caught clothes on fire due to a faulty thermostat per GE. Gave me a voucher to buy another one at full price. Which was more than the sale price I purchased it for. Terrible.

Needs repairing after less than 18 months
Reviews were good here and online. Seemed great, large capacity, clothes were clean, but now it’s making a noise that GE says is my problem and needs a repair visit. I bought it 17 months ago. I guess if you get this one, make sure you buy the extended warranty?

Door latch failure after 27 months of use
Door latch failure after 27 months of use. Also, filter drain is so close to the floor that you can only drain it into multiple multiple cookie sheets which is a pain because water gushes out and floods the floor. Only buy this machine with a riser so that you can do the routine filter drain without ruining your floor. Hopefully the repair guy can fix the door when he comes later this week. I'va had this washer for exactly 13 months, and of course it would fail on me right after the warranty expired. Its been loud and wobbly since the start, but that wasn't a big deal, just closed the door and kept it moving. Bought this GE washer/dryer set in January 2024. In June 2025, barely a year and a half in, we had to have the lower motor control board replaced. GE told us the warranty didn't cover it, so that was a $500 repair out of our own pocket.
