Good unit with some annoying features

Great unit for the price. I got what paid for with a few minor annoyances such as #1- door open and close is LOUD #2 - buttons could be more sensitive and backlit #3- the plastic inner top won’t hold my magnetic splatter cover. #4- the templates 5UCK. #5- there’s plenty of space in the manual for illustrated measurements but ….. I added cabinet bumper pads next to the door latch holes and put white electrical tape on the door latches to dampen the “slam”. Now, I don’t wake the entire hous...

Went Dead in 20 Months

Purchased Nov of 2024 and just stopped working tonight (July 31, 2026). Was heating up frozen veggies and standing in front of the unit. It sounded different and smelled like something burning. Then the screen went out. Checked circuit breaker, unplugged, plugged back in and just wouldn’t come back on. Had no problems until this, just disappointed it didn’t last very long. Will find another brand.

Broken handle

This microwave already has a hairline crack along the handle. We have only been using it for 4 months. We bought this microwave because the handle on our last GE microwave went bad after several years of use and they did not sell a replacement handle.

Good basic microwave

I bought this same model 6 years ago. It got very loud while it was running. We replaced it with the same model because it was the only way to match the GE slate color of our other appliances. So far it works well and runs quietly. I was surprised that the mounting hardware was not the same as the old unit.

Poor reliability

Glass door spontaneously shattered less than 2 years from purchase. I was standing in the kitchen and heard a pop like something fell off the counter. I looked around and found nothing and then the glass started to crackle and break across like thin ice. It hadn't used for hours before this and is exclusively used by adults.

The noise stops all conversation.

I bought this unit to replace the exact same one we had that started sparking and flashing. The old ones light bulb under the cabinet failed, I could not replace it because when you tried to turn out the bulb it separated from the base. plus the handle broke off which could not be replaced unless you replaced the whole door. Installer & Product Availability Issues

I had a very frustrating experience with Lowe's regarding what should have been a straightforward delivery and installation. I was initially told the product was in stock and that delivery would be in two days. Before placing the order, I called to confirm everything was on track and was reassured that it was. Sorry I bought this

I’m sorry I bought this. This was even more expensive than the one we had in here which house was built in 2018. This one sound cheap and like a tin box when u open or close it. installing was terrible and trying to get them back out here is just as bad.

GE MIcrowave

Replacement for my original microwave oven in my home. While slightly smaller volume, the GE microwave was purchased at a price that made it an excellent value. Works goods and look good. I really like the print resistant stainless steel finish.
